Aphrodite #5.
Atelier' Acrylic Miniature Painting.
Aphrodite is a beautiful palomino Winged mare,
who has visited my Studio in 4 earlier paintings.
Here she is joined by little Jess, a sweet Papillon adventurer
who wants to hop into Aphrodite's boat..
but who will cast them off from the Wharf?
Perhaps the helpful seagull wheeling above?

Work In Progress. 'Friesian Stallion'.
Available for Purchase.
Reflecting on the early days of my attempts at becoming a professional Equine Artist, I remembered my love of drawing beautiful horses with the freedom of not having to conform to anyone's vision but my own (inner) one. That was in 2003. This past 7 years I have completed many commissions, miniatures, different subjects and styles have flown across my desk(s). I have loved every minute of it. But in working on this 18" x 24" drawing of a Friesian stallion, I'm revisiting that thrill of freedom in the work.:-)

New ACEO, Australian Wildlife Whimsical ACEO.
'Joey and Jumbuck Jumping with Jewellery'
2.5" x 3.5" Prismacolor Verithin pencil on Steinbach Fine Drawing paper.
Mant trips into the outback were a feature of my childhood, as my Dad was born in the mining city, Broken Hill. The red earth, mulga scrub, the insects, kangaroos, emus, sheep, huge thorny prickles on the ground which always ended up in your undies after a 'toilet~stop' out in the middle of nowhere.. Memories all flooded back as I drew this little treasure.
